There is one greater problem which I can reveal - the children themselves.
Too many are spoiled and have parents whom they treat as unpaid serfs. They are frequently supported in their deceits by those self same parents. So many are not required to contribute to the running of the household by doing jobs and chores.
The majority waste hours texting; watching mindless, bog standard TV; playing computer games and doing the minimum possible amount of homework.
I have watched the decline as an objective observer over a period of 37 years in teaching and the results are a generation of children who are inferior intellectually to their parents who, by and large were inferior to the generation which preceded them!
So many are not just physically lazy - but mentally lazy too. They lack that sense of: personal pride, intellectual curiosity and desire for self-improvement which has been gradually eroding over the decades. They are spiritually dull and are drifting towards unemployability with a shrug when they should be working as no group of children has ever done in history just to get an average job - let alone a career.
