Recent Local Election Results.

Local election results
Last night saw a number of Council by-elections taking place. Across all of the elections held last week, the vote shares were Conservatives 21.6%, UKIP 20.7%, Liberal Democrats 19.7%, Labour 19.1%. UKIP were less than 1% short of gaining the most votes on aggregate (figures lower this time as some of the wards had strong non-political independent candidates). However, sadly UKIP didn’t manage to win any individual seat last night.

The Oakfield ward in Aylesbury Vale had a strong UKIP performance, with Liberal Democrats 406, UKIP 325, Conservatives 173, Labour 145, Independent 118 – the UKIP vote share being a very respectable 27.8%. In the Chapel St. Leonard’s ward of East Lindsey, UKIP took 20% of the vote – second place in a ward traditionally won by independent candidates but which this time went to Labour. Other results were 10.1% with 3rd place (St. Edmundsbury), and 22.5% with 2nd place (Taunton Deane).

Sorry Folks.
