The Bible - Channel 5.

Gotta say how profoundly unimpressed I have been with this series. I particularly dislike the 'namby pamby Jesus' they portray. The sickly, syrupy, dripping wet smile gets right up my nose. Where is the hard edge which Jesus demonstrates consistently throughout the Gospels alongside the love?

A wimpish portrayal shows neither love nor compassion nor kindness. To pretend that it does is to miss the point entirely just WHO Jesus was/is. Where is the MAJESTY? Where is the GODLINESS? Where is the purveyor of RIGHTEOUSNESS? Where is the one who was constantly on the attack against the religious teachers of the day? Why has the programme been so selective?

I hope that this programme will provoke many to repentance, in any case, but it could have been done SO much better!
