Arrested:Two Bhutanese pastors Tandin
Wangyal and Mon Bdr. Thapa were arrested on 5 March for holding a three-day
seminar at a house church in Dorokha, Samtse. Tandin and Thapa were held for 49
days before being released on bail on April 22 and are scheduled to appear
before court on 5 May, 2014.
They are likely to face a significant sentence – the last person to be convicted of showing the Jesus film was released in 2013 after three years in prison!
Please urge the Prime Minister, the King and the Attourney General of Bhutan to secure Thandin and Thapa’s release. We need to act quickly – they are due in court on 5 May. Please email the Prime Minister today! Open Doors.
