Brussels bureaucrats on £200k spark fresh calls to quit EU.

CALLS for Britain to quit the EU were further fuelled yesterday after the 27 bureaucrats appointed to run Brussels for the next five years were announced.

David Cameron celebrated winning a bigger role for the UK’s new EU Commissioner than many had expected after he tried to block the appointment of Jean-Claude Juncker as ­President of the Commission.

But Eurosceptics said the announcement of the £200,000-a-year jobs underlined the need for Britain to leave the EU.

Senior Tory MP Peter Bone said: “These are all unelected, and will become faceless bureaucrats, on large salaries, who will have to sign an undertaking that they support the principle of an ever closer union and give up any allegiance to their national government.”

He said the UK should have “nothing to do with” the EU.
