It is inevitable that there will be comparisons made as to Scotland
voting (or not) for leaving the Union and the UK perhaps voting on whether or
not to remain in the EU.
The UK, with or without Scotland, has an established internal
structure which does not need to lean on the EU for survival.
Scotland has no such equivalent. Consider welfare benefits for a
start. Where is the money all going to come from? - There will be an immediate
shortfall before any tax revenue begins to flow into the coffers. How do you
bridge the gap?
Will the necessarily high taxation not drive away would-be
entrepreneurs who are going to be unwilling to hitch their horse to a
fundamentally socialist wagon?
How do they cope with the loss of their former advantage of
disproportionate funding of the Scots per capita from
Westminster?
