Jailing criminals is a sign of failure, said Clegg who wants reductions in the number of women, drug users and people with mental illness put behind bars.
1) Whose failure? Surely not the tired old chestnut, 'society is to blame'.2) Women are already under-jailed compared to men - it is called SEXISM!
3) Criminal druggies are a menace to society and society MUST be protected.
4) Just because someone has mental issues does not mean that they cannot also be violent, dangerous and fundamentally dishonest.
