A few facts not always mentioned:
Visas are not generally granted to people who are unskilled - these
tend to be for immigrants the country actually needs - and are generally
temporary...
The bulk of EU immigrants, however, are unskilled and
frequently permanent which has a negative effect on un/employment figures/
schools/housing/hospitals and social services.
By and large, those emigrating are the retired who take money out
of the country - the main exception being the brain drainers whose skills are
undervalued in the UK. EU migrants generally bring little.
Am I allowed to add that Polish workers in my area have gained a
superb reputation - something which has escaped EU migrants from some countries
which I had perhaps better not name!
