As Jihadi John is 'evaporated' by US drone... The grieving families' one regret: He didn't suffer. Mail.
Christians who believe in taking God's Word seriously will welcome this man's death. It was right, proper and just. But for the victims' families, may I advise them to lean on the principle of righteousness - which excludes: bitterness, vengeance, hatred as well as the desire for human beings to suffer. Much as I am glad that he is dead - I still have a profound sadness for the hellbound pathway this evil man embraced. Once upon a time, he was his parents' joy and not the animal he became.
Hard as it is - and this is for their own benefit - they should pray genuinely that God finds mercy for this man. However paradoxical it may seem - it is the only way that people can emerge from these circumstances without catastrophic, spiritual damage.
When society does not deal with evil - it makes it that much harder for Christian people to be prepared to embrace forgiveness. The Scriptures are clear, however, if we are not forgiving by nature, then we cannot expect forgiveness from the Father.
