The New, National Living Wage.
A Labour-style measure introduced by a Tory (?) Chancellor. It SOUNDS sooooo good, doesn't it? - Indeed!
Mind you, there will be a small number of attendant problems too:
1) It plays into the hands of both illegal immigrants and unscrupulous employers who will take tens of thousands (hundreds of thousands?) of legitimate jobs and taxes out of the system.
2) Many smaller businesses will have to shut down. Imagine a small, reasonably busy fish and chip shop. The owner needs three people to work a Saturday lunchtime for three hours. This will cost him or her more than EIGHTY pounds per day. (And what about those days when it is not so busy? Can the owner get away with just two staff at £55? What will this do to the price of the product? Where is the profit?)
3) Clearly prices are going to have to rise. Fewer portions are sold. Profits plummet in any case.
4) Consequently these much-desired, part time jobs will simply be lost - not to mention the inconvenience to the community.
5) I was told on Friday about a tiny fruit shop run by a lady owner and an assistant. The National Living Wage would make the owner's profits fall below The National Living Wage. Consequently, both will become unemployed.
Extrapolate from what I have put here. Countless jobs and businesses will fall victim to this silly, poorly-implemented 'nice idea'.

As
the father of three daughters, I reserved the right to interview their dates.
Seemed only fair to me. After all, my wife and I'd spent 16 or 17 years feeding
them, dressing them, funding braces, and driving them to volleyball tournaments
and piano recitals. A five-minute face-to-face with the guy was a fair
expectation. I was entrusting the love of my life to him. For the next few
hours, she would be dependent upon his ability to drive a car, avoid the bad
crowds, and stay sober. I wanted to know if he could do it. I wanted to know if
he was decent.
This
was my word: "decent." Did he behave in a decent manner? Would he treat my
daughter with kindness and respect? Could he be trusted to bring her home on
time? In his language, actions, and decisions, would he be a decent guy?
Decency
mattered to me as a dad.
Decency
matters to you. We take note of the person who pays their debts. We appreciate
the physician who takes time to listen. When the husband honors his wedding
vows, when the teacher makes time for the struggling student, when the employee
refuses to gossip about her co-worker, when the losing team congratulates the
winning team, we can characterize their behavior with the word decent.
We
appreciate decency. We applaud decency. We teach decency. We seek to develop
decency. Decency matters, right?
Then
why isn't decency doing better in the presidential race?

The Terminally Simple?
I have heard two examples which perhaps suggest insanity. The first is a Labour voter, who transferred loyalties to UKIP and despises Tories. Guess what? - He is believing every word issuing from the mouth of David Cameron.
The second is a host of people on radio who are are anti-capitalists and socialists and Labour voters who are listening and believing leaders of huge conglomerates who talk piffle about these cutting their own throats and leaving the UK.

Why God Has Rules About Sex.
BY CHIP
INGRAM , CP CONTRIBUTOR
One
year for Christmas, I gave bikes to my little twin boys. For months I saved
money so that I could bless them with these gifts. After they unwrapped the
presents on Christmas morning, I took them outside so they could learn how to
ride for the first time. They were so excited! And
then … I did the "unthinkable." I made some rules.
Rule
#1: They were only allowed to ride their bikes around a small area of the
apartment complex. Rule #2: Under no circumstances were they allowed to ride
down the stairs.
My
rationale for the first rule was because the apartment complex we lived in at
the time was located in a dangerous neighborhood and it was about 100 yards away
from a four-lane highway. As for the other rule, I think it's pretty obvious why
that wouldn't be such a good idea!
Most
people would agree that by making some rules I wasn't trying to be cruel or a
killjoy to my little boys. I did it because I love them!
The
truth is every gift that flows out of love almost always has some rules and
parameters that are set around it.
This
is also true with the gifts of love and sex that are given to us by our loving,
heavenly Father. In Ephesians 5, we're given some rules about how to enjoy these
gifts:
Follow
God's example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love,
just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and
sacrifice to God. But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual
immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper
for God's holy people. (Eph. 5:1-3)
To
walk in love means to give, care and share with others and follow Christ's
example. It also means not living a sexually immoral lifestyle. This includes
homosexual behavior, living with your partner outside of marriage, and engaging
in any behavior that causes someone to desire you sexually that is outside the
bounds of marriage.
Ever
wondered, why all the rules? And why does sex matter so much to God,
anyway?
Because
He loves us! And as a good Father, He wants His cherished sons and daughters to
have the best when it comes to love, sex and relationships. God knows that sex
outside of marriage is second-rate sex – it's sex with guilt and shame attached
and some pretty devastating consequences.
Even
if someone doesn't believe in God's Word or follow His rules, it is undeniable
that there are certain spiritual, physical and emotional price tags that go
along with sex outside of marriage.
According
to the researches at UCLA, couples who cohabitate before marriage have a 50%
higher rate of divorce than those who do not. They are also more likely to
experience infidelity in marriage. Studies have also found that the introduction
of sex into a dating relationship almost always ushers in the breakup of the
relationship.
This
is why our heavenly Father says, "Keep the fire of sex in the fireplace of
marriage. If you take it out and put it on the living room floor, it will burn
the house down."
Contrary
to how we might feel, God isn't "withholding" sex from those of us who aren't
married. Rather, His desire is for each of us to experience deep, intimate love,
lasting relationships, and passionate sex. The purpose of His rules is to
maximize our relationships and pleasure in the long run.
Real,
loving relationships demand sexual purity. People that only want a one-night
stand don't need purity because their behavior is about self-worship and not
about truly loving another person. If we want a loving and lasting relationship,
then sexual purity is a must.

Atheists.
I have just visited a site where atheists vent their spleen against
Christianity.
I looked at about three dozen comments, possibly more, and they
divided neatly into two groups:
1) The people who feel that they cannot believe in God. I would say
'fair enough' but that means that they are lost and as a Christian, I must care
about them. Maybe they have had bad experiences with those purporting to be
believers - or (perhaps more rarely) with those who are believers but have
managed to be crass. Evidently, some people they had not investigated before
making a decision. Some were intellectually lazy and others merely confused.
Pray for them.
2) The second group contained: the nasty, the hubris-laden, those with closed minds, the mean, the mean-spirited, the supremely arrogant, the dismissive, the spiteful, the malevolent, the mockers - and yes - some who were simply evil. Jesus wants us to pray for these too. They are God's enemies and God The Son had the Grace to say "Father forgive them for they know not what they do.''
Many times I have encountered people who are atheists and, if I get the chance to tell them my testimony, they arbitrarily deny the miracles I can put to them which form part of my experience - one such in three distinct parts and impossibly complex. Far too difficult to cast away. In their own minds you can see them determine that I must fall into one of two categories. I must be either deluded or mendacious. Easy cop-out, isn't it? It then means that to disprove me they would have to investigate my claims. Only, they prefer not to do that. Pray for all you know who are like this. Pray when they do not want you to. Join me in my prayers for Richard Dawkins and his cronies.
Remember - even the rank atheist, CS Lewis, ended up 'Surprised By Joy.'

Research Indicates That People Right Of Centre Use More Nouns.
How can we possibly be surprised? The right is all about reality and the tangible. The left uses adjectives more. This shows that instead of sticking to a fact - they tend to embellish, interpret and impose their own opinions onto reality.
Mega Discrepancies On EU Migration Figures.
A row erupted last night over the ‘huge discrepancy’ between official immigration statistics and the issuing of National Insurance numbers.
According to the Office for National Statistics, 55,000 Romanian and Bulgarian immigrants came to Britain in the year to last September. Of those, some 45,000 said they came to work.
However, an analysis of issues of National Insurance numbers – without which no one can work legally or claim benefits in the UK – paints an entirely different picture.
According to the Office of National Statistics, some 170,000 Romanian nationals applied for NI Numbers
A total of 630,000 NI numbers were given to EU citizens in 2015, of whom 209,000 were Romanians or Bulgarians
This compares with an overall official net EU migration total of 257,000 – a gap Lord Green of the Migration Watch UK think-tank described as ‘a huge discrepancy.’
He added: ‘It is hard to believe that as many Europeans as this are arriving to work and then staying for less than a year. It is possible but it does seem unlikely.’
In 2014 – the first year that citizens of the two countries which joined the EU in 2007 had the right to work freely in Britain – 187,000 NI numbers were issued to them.

Frank - Labour's Best MP.
A vote to leave is the only way to achieve major EU reform.
19 February 2016 Commenting on the renegotiated terms of Britain’s membership of the EU, Frank Field MP says: ‘What a choice our poor old country faces. There’s widespread support amongst voters across Europe (but not leading politicians) for a fundamental EU reform programme, but our Government never seriously considered leading on this front. Yet the Government so lacked ability that it couldn’t even achieve the minimal reform programme it cobbled together.
Holding the referendum in June was
clearly more important than winning
major reforms.
‘The Government has failed to secure
the key renegotiation requirement,
namely, that we should regain control
of our borders. I shall therefore be
campaigning to leave the EU.
‘There are three crucial aspects of this
campaign which will underpin victory.
First, we must support those Labour
voters who are critical to a victory to
turn out and vote, despite the pro-EU
line the Labour establishment will push.
‘Second, as the referendum will decide
the future of our country, we need to
debate in a civilised way and also join others
from different parties who hold similar critical
views about these unsuccessful renegotiations.
‘Third, a successful vote to leave is now
the only option open to ensure the fundamental
reform of the EU on which the Government
should have embarked. An express wish of
the British voters to leave will have a huge
impact on voters and even governments in
other EU countries. It’s not inconceivable
that, as we press for an orderly withdrawal,
other EU countries will join with us in
negotiating their exit. We must be prepared
for this wider scenario and respond in the best
interests of Britain and Europe.’

Dave's Deal Is Not Legally Binding.
Michael Gove has given
an interview to the BBC in which he makes clear that the Prime Minister‘s
deal is not legally binding. This is a hugely significant intervention. As
Secretary of State for Justice, Mr Gove is in charge of the UK’s legal system.
He states that the European Court of Justice is not bound by the deal because
there has not been any Treaty change. Indeed, Downing Street admits that EU
courts must only take the deal ‘into account’.
Labour SO Out Of Touch.
On issues such as immigration, public spending, the renewal of Trident,
foreign policy, the environment, defence and terrorism the Labour party
membership appears to hold wildly opposing views to the British public. For
example only one in six (16%) Labour party members believe immigration to be
even in the top three most important issues facing the country, compared to 60%
of the British public. Over three-quarters (78%) of Labour party members say
immigration is good for Britain's economy whereas only a quarter (29%) of the
British public agree do. Time and again the pattern is repeated; the Labour
party membership see an issue one way, the British public see it almost exactly
the other way.
"I Have In My Hand A Piece of Paper ..."
Jonathan Arnott
MEP Retweeted
"I have in my hand a piece of paper. It is, in
effect blank, because the EU wouldn't allow me anything else."
I Have A Very Rude Suggestion For This Gentleman.
Britain could have a second referendum if voters go for Brexit in June, European Parliament chief suggests.
The German socialist refused to rule out the idea floated by
Boris Johnson that Britain could go back to Brussels to try and get further
concessions before voting again. Mail.
