UKIP defence spokesman Mike Hookem MEP has blasted the
Ministry of Defence, saying “it is time to end the government sanctioned culture
of housing our heroes in sties.”
Mr Hookem’s comments come following a report by the Commons Public
Accounts Committee which found The Ministry of Defence and its contractor
Carillion Amey were "badly letting down service families".
Former soldier and senior UKIP official Mr Hookem said, “From speaking to
military families up and down the country, I know the appalling conditions many
of these brave people are forced to live in and the demoralising effect this
has.”
