Establishing a 200 lead on first innings, India have virtually guaranteed themselves victory and can look to set England a huge, nay, impossible target.
Not even Geoff Boycott-style batting can now save them on a pitch which will make the ball deviate erratically in every direction and with so much time remaining for India to capture the ten wickets they require. The signs of extreme wear on the surface are already beginning to show.
England's bowlers deserve credit but the silly wickets given away at the top of the batting order made this herculean task one which has guaranteed the defeat which was already staring them in the face whilst the coin was still in the air.
