University Challenge under fire for lack of diversity in teams without women or minorities.
Birmingham University and Balliol College, Oxford have been criticised
for the latest episode.
University
Challenge has
come under fire for the lack of diversity in its latest set of teams.
The most recent episode of the series, airing on March 6, 2017, saw
Birmingham University and Balliol College, Oxford compete in the
prestigious BBC quiz.
Both teams consisted of four white male contestants, with no women or
ethnic minorities present. London Standard.
University Challenge is largely
self-selecting. So if some teams have few minorities or women - it will because
few have put themselves forward. All universities take the best of those who who have volunteered - often making a balance where it matters most - on the variety of subjects covered.
WHY DOES IT MATTER?
I shall never complain if the best four who have applied
from one university happen to be black and female - so why are these PC loonies complaining here? Have they nothing better to do than manufacture faux
outrage?
My detestation of the left grows daily.
