Motorway roadworks speed limit to be raised to 60mph as network reaches ‘tipping point’.

MOTORIST will be able to drive at 60mph when passing roadworks in an attempt to ease congestion, Highways England has revealed.

Driving up from London on Thursday night, I was horrified that you had three lanes of near-emptiness in so many places and the absurd 50mph limits AND with the full panoply of 'average speed cameras'.

If the road doesn't actually have any roadworks, why not 70mph?
