Unenlightened French Self-Interest?

The former International Trade Secretary Liam Fox told Sky News that the European Union has a £66billion trade surplus with Britain but France only makes up £2.7billion of that. Mr Fox compared this to Germany who makes up £23billion and Spain who account for £14billion. His comments suggest the real reason France is not as willing to make concessions in order to secure a free trade agreement with the UK compared to their European counterparts.
