The Korean War.

North Korea.
Apparently, this war was 'very wrong'. (Quite possibly because it was against rampant communists, of course.)
With the benefit of hindsight, we can now see that the 51 million people in the prosperous South Korea we see today would have been living in poverty and tyranny for over 65 years.
