Madeleine McCann: Prime suspect was discounted by Portuguese police
Man was investigated by Portugal's Policia Judiciaria at the time of Madeleine's disappearance but ruled out by detectives
The prime suspect in Madeleine McCann's abduction was discounted by Portuguese police just months after her disappearance, it can be revealed.
Christian Brückner, 43, a convicted child sex offender, drug dealer and burglar from Germany, has been identified as the alleged kidnapper.
Brückner is now suspected of murdering Madeleine after abducting her from her parents' holiday apartment in Praia da Luz, Portugal, in May 2007.
Thirteen years on from her disappearance, it can now be revealed that Brückner was investigated by Portugal's Policia Judiciaria at the time but was ruled out by detectives on the Algarve. DT.
