Annie Dillard 'Explains' Evolution: The Blogger Shows She Is Wrong.

"Evolution loves death more than it loves you or me ... We are moral creatures then in an amoral world.

The universe that suckled us is a monster that does not care if we live or die - does not care if itself grinds to a halt."

Blogger: the contradictions here are legion. The first sentence and the last simply contradict each other. Loving death and not caring about death are opposites.
Love? How can such an emotion exist within this framework - whether it be the negative love described or the positive love which almost all will have experienced in some fashion?
What of spiritual love? What of the numinous? What of self sacrifice? What of empathy? - It is no use to pretend that these things can emerge out of this crass nihilism.
What of agape? What of philos? The atheist must inevitably proclaim that these are mere 'tools of evolution' but just how illogical is this?
Evolution is an essentially negative concept, typically dismissing any Creator out of hand, and on a whim, whilst attempting to construct a building on these shifting sands.
The impossibility of morality emerging from immorality contradicts every single thing we know empirically.
"I know that God does not exist" is both dishonest and bordering insanity. God is 100% impossible to disprove.
In the highly improbable situation that you possess 0.001% of all the knowledge in the universe - that still leaves 99.999% for God to be found in.
The thing is, that for those of us who have searched honestly for God - using the criteria He has given us - we can encounter Him in considerably less than the 0.001%. Our meeting with Him is a reality - and not an opinion. He suffuses every aspect of our lives.
We have to suffer the arrogance of atheists who proclaim what it is impossible to either prove or know. It is mere opinion.
Actually meeting up with God is no opinion at all. It is a reality which so many of the most intelligent cannot experience because of their arrogance and lack of humility.

If Only I Could Disagree.
