We were taught 'waste not, want not'. We 'made do and mended'.
We were bewildered by bubble packs. For a few products they were a joy - for the majority they were totally unnecessary.
We deplored the 'throw away culture' which saw the first abuses of plastics.
We railed against 'built-in obsolescence'.
I could rant on but - you can probably see where I'm coming from.
