When I became a Christian, I was aware of the two works above which were embarrassingly poor for the academic Allegro and the incredibly selective and inventive Mr Schonfield.
There have seldom been better examples of atheists desperately anxious to 'debunk' the resurrection. They were utterly wretched in the honesty of their writings and both texts were so feeble that, even as a brand new Christian, I was able to utterly destroy their appallingly feeble arguments.
The disciples were drugged up on mushrooms? - After a Roman crucifixion, the soldiers were so poor at their job, that Jesus came around in the refreshing coolness of the tomb. Known as 'The Swoon Theory'. Quoi???
I have only read one book by Richard Dawkins - and as a non-scientist - I found it so easy to dismantle - I did not even bother to trouble myself to his other machinations in his reportedly weak "The God Delusion."
If you must waste money and time on all of the tripe above, please promise yourself that you will also read "Who Moved The Stone?" by Frank Morison. It is a bit old-fashioned and the style makes it a tad difficult to read - but that one volume uses reason and logic and zero opinions. It will stun all of those who are honest in their search for truth.

As a backup to the above, Lee Strobel's much more readable "The Case For Christ" is just as honest as lawyer Frank Morison but some may find it - not better - but perhaps a bit more accessible. I suggest, however, that you read both. But
... if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. 1 Corinthians 15:14. New International Version.
But if Christ did actually rise from the dead and conquer death itself - as He had promised - is it not time for you to accept all of His other promises about Heaven, Hell and Life Everlasting?
You are not promised tomorrow - please do not gamble with your eternal future. Act straight away. This is not the same as postponing painting the fence or doing the washing up. It is a now thing!
