Who is largely to blame?
Unthinking, blinkered GREENS and their many acolytes!
They think that our puny efforts can change the climate but why does it need changing? Why is this question never asked? Why are the graphs giving the complete picture over many decades only being shown in part by the 'climate lobby'? What are they hiding? - Well my leading scientist friend who sends me so very much information for this Blog ensures that you can always know the actual truth.
65 years ago, I was brought up in a small industrial village on the Trent with filth from nearby the power station issuing forth into the air every minute of the day. The pollutions of the nearby steelworks multiplied the omnipresent contaminants.
Buses and lorries belched incessantly the foulest of diesel fumes into the atmosphere to complement the even greater filth from passing steam trains. Cars ran on filthy leaded petrol.
Today, that village of Keadby, has the purest of air. What we did to clean up has been a marvel: what we are attempting to do is unwise and impossible. We do not even know if what we are now attempting is good for the globe or not. We are having to fight opinions, guesswork and supposition.
Back in the day, every dwelling in Keadby pushed out fumes from the non-smokeless coal fires which kept families warm.
The fogs and smogs necessitated that, with my bronchitic chest, I had to wear a smog mask every time I was out of the house for more than a few minutes.
There were so many days when you were barely able to see from one side of the road to the other. We were immersed in poison which was added to by the streams of tobacco smoke erupting from the mouths of Capstan smokers and those of similar ilk.
We were not given newspaper warnings that 'pollution levels were high' - they were just the norm. People died young from smoking-induced cancers and a wide variety of what were, as yet, unnamed lung conditions, such as COPD.
Today, how often do we ever see a meteorological map which shows atmospheric pollution as ever being anything other than 'low' in the UK? This is a most serious question. Check for yourself. What is this mystery enemy that we are fighting?
I have travelled through China from Beijing to Tianjin. All is so reminiscent of those days in Keadby village back in the 50s. In Beijing I encountered the worst air pollution I've seen in the last 65 years.
Cleaner trains and twenty times more cars give out a tiny fraction of that pollution which had forced my parents to emigrate to the Lincolnshire coast in 1956 'on doctors' advice' - in order to 'protect my highly vulnerable chest and lungs'.
China and India are the only nations today which are severely polluting the planet with fossil fuels. What the rest of us do is utterly trivial by comparison. You want to make the world substantially cleaner? - Tell India and China to tone it down. (Good luck with that, by the way!)
The Green Lobby has, almost without serious challenge, won a mega propaganda victory. It has bullied nations, not just into 'reducing carbon emissions' but into believing that, what 90% of the world is doing can change the climate. As these are doing so little to pollute - reducing that fraction of the perceived problem can have nothing other than a negligible impact.
Why are we told that CO2 is a poison when it contributes to plant growth - even in desert areas?
Net Zero will cost many trillions of pounds that the world just cannot afford. The extreme poor will DIE because of these tactics. The poor will suffer desperate and meaningless lives in the kinds of numbers that will make today's world poverty appear to be nothing but a mere blip. The 'wealthy' of the Western nations will see their lifestyles turned upside down and comfortable living will become nothing more than a distant memory.
In the UK 'they' have conspired to end all coal production - more than 300 years worth of unmined coal lie beneath our islands and a huge % of that is suitable for open cast mining. (The Wentworth to Wakefield seam hits coal at just eight feet below the surface of the land!)
They have stopped the production of new nuclear power stations - which will be the salvation of the more intelligent nations who have been ne'er so foolish. They have stopped the DEEP fracking around the UK, ie) the safe-to-extract shale gas of which we have more than a century's worth of supply. And yet, they tell bogey man stories about fracking from SHALLOW drill holes which is of no relevance to the question.
All of this because it is now fashionable to believe that climate change is no longer climate change - but rather, 'global warming.'
US Vice-President, Al Gore, gave out a bevy of climate change predictions - almost every one of which has not come to pass within the given time constraints. (A considerable amount of his nonsense was incorrect right from the time of issue.)
Governments now accept nonsense as truth and are earmarking trillions of our taxes for the equivalent of trying to remove the entire Pacific Ocean by one eggcup of seawater at a time.
This idiocy must be reversed. We must agitate for open debate on this matter. 'Climate Scientists' versus 'Climate-Change-Denier Scientists.'
If the 'deniers' are so wrong - let proper, open debate show them up for the buffoons that they are presumed to be.
Where open debate is denied - someone always has a great deal to hide!
