 More than 500 assaults recorded on Humberside Police officers last year

Humberside Police's chief constable has spoken out against the assaults on his officers.

Chief Constable Lee Freeman (Image: HullLive)There were more than 500 assaults recorded on Humberside Police officers last year. Government statistics show that there were 799 assaults in total on Humberside Police officers in the year ending March 2022. This means that more than 15 officers were assaulted every week. There were more assaults on officers in the Humberside area than Bedfordshire and Gloucestershire put together. Statistics for Humberside Police show that there were 170 assaults with an injury on a constable recorded and 629 without an injury. Grimsby and Scunthorpe Telegraph.
