Over years, I have switched onto this programme from time to time and each successive visit seems to compound my disappointment as each episode features three people trying desperately to be funny.

Consequently, please find no bias in my next comment: by and large, the female comics are dire. The timing in their routines is simply awful. 95% are mediocre - at best.
The male comedians do not escape criticism either. 85% of their total do not seem to be a great deal better. (Why has nobody studied the mighty Bob Newhart to learn about comic timing?)
That 'effing and blinding' might - very rarely - have some tiny justification is arguable but 90%+ of the times when employed - there is zero cause other than to shock. How very clever!
I can just about accept a joke with a sexual theme - but only if very funny. Few are. The imaginative innuendos of the past have long been swamped out of existence.
Sorry to sound ancient but the rich seam of comedians in my younger days were sublime in comparison to most who currently grace The Apollo with their dubious presence.
Satire? - Virtually non-existent. Crude, bigoted and inevitably leftist propaganda is what we have to bear instead.
Christianity - by a fair number of these clever souls - is something to be mocked. I do rather wonder why these heathens do not have the courage to attack Islam in the same manner - or perhaps simple self-preservation is the answer!
