Thumleima is a 17-year-old Christian girl from Manipur.
She and her brother lived with her parents in a small village 10 hours’ walk from the major city of Imphal.
When Thumleima’s parents heard about the violence that swept across Manipur in May 2023, they were extremely anxious that the violence would reach their village.
Hoping to spare their children’s lives, Thumleima’s parents sent her and her younger brother over 1700 miles away to Hyderabad where they would be housed and supported by Adite and others at AlCC.
After a week of travel these young people arrived in Hyderabad where they were greeted by Adite and others at AICC who embraced them.
“Thumleima, her brother and two of their friends arrived here with torn dirty clothes, no spare clothing or shoes, and hungry,” said Adite.
“But we immediately took them to an AICC home where they got cleaned up, ate a nice meal, and received treatment for some minor medical needs.”
Will you help persecuted and oppressed Christians like Thumleima and her family this Christmas? |
