What a great joy it is to be able to celebrate and give thanks to God for the one who was ‘delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification.’ (Romans 4:25)
My heart was stirred recently when I read, in the latest edition of Release International’s Voice magazine, the inspiring story of Mrs Lee, a 96-year-old North Korean, whose life is a wonderful testimony to true Easter joy.
Mrs Lee and her family fled to South Korea during the Korean War in the early 1950s. When she came to faith in Christ her husband did not approve, and for years did everything he could to stifle her faith—including beating her.
But Mrs Lee persevered and shortly before he died her husband surrendered his life to Christ. Amazingly, even today, Mrs Lee continues to share Jesus with people she meets.

And as you rejoice this Easter, knowing the Christ who died for your sins and was raised to glory, will you commit to praying that God will grant his persecuted people the grace to persevere—as Mrs Lee has persevered?
