Please pray! Christian woman in critical condition A 25-year-old Christian woman from the Punjab province in Pakistan remains in critical condition after she was raped by two Muslim men, sources say. The woman was assaulted while working as a labourer in a fruit orchard on April 11. Her family has come under pressure to reach a settlement with the attackers—but remain determined to seek justice. Her uncle said that she needed 22 stitches as a result of the rape. She was also suffering from a severe infection. However, he added, ‘I have faith in our Lord that he will not leave us alone in this difficult time.’ In a separate incident, also in Punjab a day later, men accused of gang-raping a 14-year-old Christian girl attacked her relatives in an attempt to coerce the family to drop charges, sources say. Pray for healing for the two victims of these assaults. Pray God will give their families grace to persevere, and that justice will prevail. Pray for a new book on the church in China. Pray for its publication and effective distribution, and that many would be inspired and informed about the current situation in that country. Pray for the continued strength and faith of Christians in China, despite on-going persecution and increasing state surveillance. Pray God would bless, protect and encourage his church there.
