Release International’s partner in Indonesia trains Christians who are from a Muslim background to engage in mission.
The work involves preparing them to reach out with the gospel in areas where they are likely to face persecution for doing so. Indonesia has the largest Muslim population of any country in the world.
Pray for Christians from a Muslim background, who often face rejection and persecution from their communities. At the same time, they can also find it difficult to integrate into established Christian churches.
Pray for those who have recently completed a training course run by our partner and are returning to their ministry locations. Pray the Lord will give them boldness, as well as wisdom and discernment, as they seek to share Christ with those around them.
Pray for one Muslim background believer who has been accused of blasphemy and hate speech against Islam. Extremists who are aware of the case are reportedly putting pressure on the court to find him guilty. Prosecutors are said to be trying to amend the charges to apostasy—possibly to push for a death sentence.
