Chinese pastors in prison
The wife of a jailed Chinese pastor is pleading with the world not to forget church leaders who are behind bars.
Pastor Ezra Jin Mingri, founder of the influential Beijing-based Zion Church, was recently released after nine months in detention, following some high-level diplomacy.
But Su Ziming, wife of another pastor, Wang Lin, who is still in custody, said, ‘Zion Church has eight leaders still detained. Our family and the others all eagerly await reunion.’
For Su and the couple’s two young children, the past nine-months have been what she described as ‘the longest and most painful nine months of our family’s lives.’ She told Voice of Persecuted Christians’ partner for China of the ‘immense suffering’ of losing contact with her husband.
‘My husband has missed every important milestone in our children’s lives, along with all the ordinary moments that a family should have shared together.’
Pray for a swift release from custody for all those Zion Church leaders who have been detained.
Pray for Su Ziming and her children, and the family of other church leaders in custody, that they may know God’s sustaining grace.
Pray that faithful Christian churches like the Zion Church will continue to proclaim the gospel boldly and that many in China will come to know Jesus Christ.
