Imprisoned for Christ
Our partner for Eritrea provides financial and material assistance to victims of persecution and their families. This includes refugees from Eritrea in other parts of Africa.
Any religious activity not under the umbrella of Sunni Islam, Orthodox, Lutheran or Catholic Churches is banned in Eritrea and has resulted in many evangelicals suffering indefinite prison sentences.
Pray for our partner’s workers in Eritrea who are involved in prison visits, often providing food, clothing and medicine—as well as supporting the families of those incarcerated.
Pray for follow-up support work with those who have been released from prison. This work includes practical provision of needs, but also spiritual care. Give thanks that a number of Christians have been released from Eritrean prisons this year.
Pray for the protection of our partner’s team in Eritrea. Pray for wisdom and strength for the work they do, particularly in the training and resourcing of new church leaders.
