I DON'T pretend to fully understand the eloquent ramblings of Richard Corbett MEP Labour, (Yorkshire Post, October 15).
The gist was that we are better able to weather the credit crunch and the resulting financial turmoil by being in the Common Market. Can he tell the Yorkshire Post readers, therefore, how it is that Norway and Switzerland, who have had the good sense to stay out of the European Union, seem to have survived the turmoil better than us?
By the way, Norway and Switzerland are the richest countries in Europe
