Firstly, we have to consider his rather chequered history of having represented a bevy of other political parties in the past. One year in UKIP does not remove all the natural suspicions of party members as to whether or not he is with us for the long haul.
Secondly, how can he possibly compete with a Nigel Farage?
I note from my YOUTUBE trawl that his powers of oratory were excellent in the hustings in Exeter and he seemed to get the loudest applause of all the candidates from a meeting of about 250 people when the individual speeches were made.
(This is the very same UKIP which the ever ridiculous Guardian portrays as 'BNP in suits'!)
Oh yes. He's black! - Hadn't I mentioned that small fact?
Well, he ain't gonna win this time but if he proves to be loyal to UKIP, his turn may well come - and THEN where will the guardianistas be?
A personal observation: I have NEVER once heard a racist comment from a UKIP member in my 8 years with the party!
