BUT - This is pretty much what the situation was back in 1975 and look what happened then. 'They' united against 'us'. 'They' lied through their teeth and poured money into manipulating two thirds against into two thirds in favour.

NOTE. Labour and Lib Dems are 'keeping their powder dry' and 'heads below the parapet' but we all know precisely where they stand.
It is left to the hapless tories to 'defend the great EU ideal' and they are doing so by criticising and talking about lesser solutions than a complete withdrawal. THIS is where the dishonesty can be found and THIS is where they will sucker a huge number of the population again - and then of course, when the going gets tough, the LibLabs will turn up like reinforcements to push the 'we have more or less got what we want from negotiations' patter 'and so we can now safely relax as respected members' scam.
