I have just watched the Meryl Streep film on Margaret Thatcher
recorded from Channel 4.
The film was much fairer than I imagined it would be but I could see why some people objected to her dementia being used as 'an artistic device'. My Mum having suffered from that condition - I was not offended by this. It was kindly done, although perhaps not over tastefully.
It brought a great many of my memories into much sharper focus.
Not entirely my cup of tea but she did have something which no other PM has
had in my lifetime - personal integrity.
She was surely the only person in the highest position in the land to have been a
genuine conviction politician in generations.
