The differences are astonishing. Both cannot be right - and yet, even though weather forecasting in the UK is so mediocre, we still have scientists who believe that they are good enough to move up the scale a notch and predict where the climate is headed.
These are the next generation on from those promising new ice ages when I was at university - and latterly 'global warming'.
I smile every time that we now hear the words 'climate change' used and not 'global warming'. The latter had serious potential to leave you with 'egg on the face' and of course, provided you are not too specific, with the former you just cannot be wrong!
I got up this morning to about two inches of fresh snow on the ground. Funny that my weather forecaster online had missed out this small fact in its online guessing!
