Conservative MP Fiona Bruce has called on the Government to compile statistics on the gender of aborted babies in a Parliamentary debate this week.

Government ministers have admitted that there is a discrepancy between the number of boys and girls being born in the UK, raising concerns that abortions on the basis of gender are being performed in some communities.
