Sad For Today's Children.

Why do we suppose that so many parents are quite content to have their children sat at home playing computer games? - It is because they are so fearful for their safety outside the home. Stranger danger; gangs of louts; discarded needles by junkies; traffic intensity all add to the problems as does fear that bad influences may also come into play.
How different to when I was young and could pretty much roam wherever and whenever I pleased provided that I was home before dark - and my Mum leaned heavily towards being over-protective of her only child.
How ill-served are today's kids who cannot even fully explore their own locality.
