Wanting To Work?

It is often correctly claimed that those out of work do not want to be in that state - and of course - in a great many cases that is true.
How though do we explain the rise in people on sickness benefits, from the start of the Major government and well into the Labour administrations, when numbers doubled from 1.3 million to 2.6 million? Such increases cannot possibly be legitimate.
Collusion between fraudsters and ne'er do wells with governments anxious to conceal unemployment figures?
We must also ask about those immigrants who flooded into the country to 'do the jobs which our people would not do'. How can that happen, one may justifiably ask? Why had the unemployed been allowed a choice?
The problem today however, is that jobs are exceedingly few and it is nearly impossible to 'direct' the unemployed into work.
