Boris: The Old Scam.

Boris Johnson has said Britain "must be prepared" to "walk away" from the European Union if David Cameron's efforts to strike a new deal with Brussels fail. Telegraph.
I do not know if I shall have to keep on making this point ad nauseam but just in case there are readers who are unaware what is being done here, I shall repeat myself:
1) There CAN be no 'new deal' of any consequence.
2) The EU is designed so that no powers worthy of the mention can ever be repatriated.
3) There will be a mighty fuss as Cameron renegotiates something of a trivial nature boosted to seem supremely important.
4) There will be cries of anguish from the French, of all people, who will loudly squeal that Britain is being made into a special case and the EU Commissioners will throw hands aloft in disingenuous horror.
5) Cameron will return with a self-announced 'triumph' and leaders of europhile parties will nod sagely before saying 'The boy done good but we'd have done a bit better.'
6) The people will vote and the exit bid will be narrowly defeated in a referendum because there will be a small but stoopid number of voters who failed to spot the scam.
7) If by some chance the propaganda fails - we shall then have a 'special relationship' with the EU which is NOT the same as agreements in place with the likes of Norway and Switzerland but in effect leaves us as non-voting members and sellout politicians which will hold over until the re-vote 18 months later.

England in Mexico City.
