The Economy Is NOT A Cake.

It is a favourite socialist canard that the economy is 'a cake from which the fortunate take large pieces and the poor grapple for the crumbs'.
An emotive image which seemingly 'must be true' but is actually the purest balderdash.
(This view only fits an economy which cannot really expand as found in stalinism.)
The problem with the thinking is that an economy is not a fixed entity. The size of the so-called cake is not a constant.
The situation is made more complicated by the thoughtless punishment of the people who make the cake bigger by leftist governments.
This is a very complex subject but hopefully this short piece will help readers expel this flawed view from their thoughts.
