'3 million jobs depend on EU membership.' (Ha, ha!)

We don’t have to be members of the EU to trade with it.  Tiny Switzerland does 4½ times as much trade per capita with the EU as we do.  If 3 million British jobs depend on trade with the EU, 4 to 5 million EU jobs depend on trade with the UK.  They’d want to keep them.Let’s remember as well that roughly 3 million jobs depend on trade with non-EU countries – and that’s expanding whilst our trade with the EU is contracting.  Shouldn’t we protect those jobs from EU regulation hampering their trade?

None of these jobs would be lost, but we’re losing jobs in trade with non-EU countries at the moment.  We’re also losing jobs through EU competitive tendering rules, which means that local companies are losing out on Council and government contracts.  Outside the EU we’d have more jobs.
