Like with Nissan, read what they actually said: TATA steel are worried only about Britain becoming isolated; as long as a free trade deal happens their problems are resolved. And a free trade deal is guaranteed by treaty. EU membership is pushing our energy prices through the roof. Many metal dealers are now selling to India rather than TATA, because India is offering higher prices as they have lower energy bills (and labour costs). If we leave the EU and make our energy prices more competitive, businesses like TATA will be able to compete again.
