First UK National Pothole Day

UKIP Transport spokesman Jill Seymour is throwing her weight behind the UK’s first National Pothole Day, highlighting growing problems with the state of the country’s road network.Jill Seymour MEP said: “Basic repairs to our streets are being overlooked. It is time for us to go back to basics, and tackle the issues which are close to the heart of every motorist. That’s why I’m delighted to support this new initiative, putting the issue of our crumbling road network firmly on the map.”        She should visit Sheffield where so many promises have been made but improvements are beyond slow! On my own road - a resurfacing was scheduled between the 3rd and 10th November 2014. (I moved in, in 1975 and the road has never been properly serviced in that entire period.) We were warned that bad weather could create delays but where was the bad weather in November? We have only had 6 days since the dates given when work would have been impossible - in the post Christmas period.
