Jehovah's Witness Visit.

Yesterday, I was sincerely shocked. A JW arrived on my doorstep with a bored nine year old son in tow. I was astounded. It was the very first time in 40 years of dealing with these people that I have met an intelligent one. The vast majority are sheep who follow lines of patter with which they have been thoroughly indoctrinated. Move  beyond this patter and they flounder.
This misguided gent was actually capable of debate - something never previously witnessed.
He did have to lie, however, a far from unknown characteristic within my personal experience of JWs. When cornered on the translation of John 1:1. He insisted that half of Bible translations add the redundant indefinite article.
Being a fair man - I checked. New World translation (specially made to JW specification) = One. The next twenty three translations I checked before getting bored - all omitted it!
Hardly 50%, huh?
This was a senior person in the organisation, though. Scary.

Galatians 2.

  16) I  know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ...
