"The underclass does not refer
to a degree of poverty but to a type of poverty." Charles Murray.
Some believe the underclass to be a group which has
'slipped through the cracks of the benefit system' but this is a fallacy. It is
an attitude of mind; a revolt against society; a parasitical and antagonistic -
often criminal - bloodsucking mindset. The Victorians were correct to
distinguish between the 'deserving poor' and the rest!
The underclass, because of their nefarious misdeeds
will seldom be 'poor' in any objective or tangible sense as their chosen
lifestyle will often deliver far greater bounty to them than that received by
their honest and hardworking neighbours. They are perversely defended by the
left when they should be ostracised, undermined and prevented from doing the
social damage which they currently enjoy and pass onto their
offspring.
The real problem is that there are so many people who
do not fall neatly into this true underclass but straddle its borders. Dealing
with the 'hard cases' may help legitimise those who are tempted to join these
others.
Sadly, this is the most spiritually bereft part of any
nation - where amorality breeds - the opportunities for salvation are seldom
grasped.

all!'
