Ritual Humiliation.

The ritual humiliation of airport searches is getting worse by the day. Manchester is far and away the most inept I have ever experienced. If ever a system was ever devised by clowns and executed by numpties - well, this is it. People were having a wide variety of goods confiscated as the arcane 'rules' were followed to the letter. If you had half of an opened 150  gram tube of, say arthritis gel - it would be confiscated though a 100 gram tube - also opened and containing more gel - would go through. Mind you, this is now the norm for all airports - but what is it that makes Manchester so special?
Well, instead of having one searcher run your luggage through the Xray machine - there are hordes of 'experts' passing hand luggage from pillar to post until it makes your head swirl and you have to stand on tiptoes trying to see where your bags have gone. The delays are horrendous. This was the Jet2 search area and an official later told me that 'the upstairs one is worse'.
Whoever invented this shambles should be sacked.
Alicante airport is hardly fun but they have lessons in basic efficiency which could certainly teach MANCHESTER a thing or two!
