How often have you booked a package holiday? - Why did you? - Was
it because it was cheaper and less hassle? - Thought so.
The trouble is that it may be slightly more fuss - but times-a-many
you are paying much more for the sake of convenience.
Take my last trip to the US with Mrs Blogger. We priced up a great
many packages and were unimpressed - and to cap it all - every single date was
inconvenient.
So, in December 2014, I spent three hours online and came up with
our very own self-tailored package.
It gave us exactly what we wanted, we got more for the money spent
and we saved at least a £1,000.
Now to the point. From a trading point of view - it is like the
EU being the package tour provider BUT it is the only package tour
provider - it has no real competition. So, what you get is expensive, limited in
scope and leaving you without choice or access to other package companies
worldwide.
I am sure that the analogy will not be lost on the people
intelligent enough to read and grasp the wisdom of this
Blog.
