Having lain under the bleeding corpse of Cameron until the chaos subsided, she has somehow found her spleen. She has no kids to cry for her, no real job to fall back on, no endearing qualities or social skills. No collegiate to cheer her name. Nothing to lose. For her, the gamble is worth it. The corpse of Cameron has been cleared, leaving her exposed for exactly what she is. She hid from the battle, in order to save herself for the war. And very soon her cowardice will reveal itself. Teflon Theresa has no choice but to stagger into the fray. Far braver than the Remainer in Kitten Heels is another woman. She watched as the dagger dove deep into the heart of Boris and is wading thigh-deep through blood to staunch the flow; to push back against the fickle, cowed into buyers remorse for voting Leave. To make people believe they voted the right way, to give us courage, to remind us 'we will have our freedom back'. That woman is Andrea Leadsom. She is fighting because she has the courage of her conviction.
This piece in The Mail is fair and very reasonable but I am not sure that I can totally agree. The problem is that the UK MUST avoid a General Election as a precursor to Brexit negotiations. We cannot gauge the outcome and the Brexit case could end up being severely damaged.
I ask myself which I prefer and Andrea is streets ahead BUT can she keep the whole Tory Party on board? They are a shifty bunch and can we trust the Anna Soubrys of this world to help vote through all the necessary legislation?
At the moment, a good Brexit is the only goal. The first step on that road would be a Tory Party united. Sad to say, Theresa May is the more likely to deliver on that.
Yes, I know that she is not a Brexiteer but I think that, Brexit having been voted for, she will have to do her very best for the nation. A far-from-ideal solution. And worse, I could be wrong!
