Remainist propaganda persuaded many voters to opt for
staying in the EU; a Labour MP was murdered and blame was absurdly cast onto
Brexit; funding for the 'In' camp was huge and many such voters did so out of
pure fear - I know - many of them have told me this!
The only 'tangible remainist fact' was that 'Brexit had lied about
how much money we send weekly to the EU'.
All these things helped them win a very generous 48% of the vote. I
must admit that, within my heart of hearts, I thought all of the above would
swing the vote. Under the prevailing circumstances, the result showed just how
detested the EU had become.
BUT - a lot has now changed. We now know that the 'Brexit weekly
payment to EU' figure was an UNDERestimate; the pound has not collapsed; the
FTSE is booming; we haven't had a single war since June; a 'punishment budget'
did not happen; leading financial figures from past Governors of the Bank of
England to big businesses are recanting; we are an attractive investment
destination; 30+ major nations are queuing up for trade deals; jobs are holding;
big businesses are not pulling out en bloc and the future is looking
fantastic.
Dear Remainers.
You want a second referendum - how many
Brexiteers do you think would change their vote now?
BUT, more importantly - how many wobbly
Remainist voters would, under the prevailing circumstances, definitely vote Brexit now that the mythical wolf has
departed?
My serious advice to you is to keep your own
counsel - for your own sake! If you were to get another referendum - I predict
that your vote would fall to under 40%. At least, with the one result - you'll
keep some vestiges of dignity!
