We have seen so many stoopid, off-the-cuff remarks by leading Ukip figures over my 15 years as a member that I suppose I should not be at all surprised that Diane James has chosen to follow in the footsteps of all those noteworthy loose gobs who went before.
Yesterday, Andrew Neil suggested to her that Vlad (The Impaler) Putin was one of her heroes. She chose neither to correct nor clarify. How dim can you be?
When pressed on who her political heroes were, she told us that they were arch Tories, Margaret Hilda Thatcher and WS Churchill.
Now, outside Tonypandy, she might well get away with lauding Churchill but one must ask what relevance such a man - dead for over 50 years - could possibly have today. (It is an old Farage mistake, rehashed!)
As for praising La Thatcher in public - this would seem to be a mark of incipient insanity!
It will go down well with a number of Tory voters, of course. But has she considered the immeasurable damage done to the entire campaigning of Ukip in the Labour heartlands of the North? - No!
All the great work done by Paul Nuttall ably aided by Louise and Jonathan and countless activists on the ground over a generation - wiped out in a single sentence within 48 hours of becoming leader.
The damage done is inestimable - and consider how she has played into the hands of The Guardian, The Independent, The Huff Post, the BBC, Channel 4 and The Mirror long into the foreseeable future.
I have seen enough. My lapsed membership will not be renewed on Diane's watch.
A weakened or destroyed Ukip makes Brexit-Lite more than likely!
Self explanatory title. I abhor that nicey nicey, politically correct, pseudo-Christianity which almost always supports leftwing attitudes - which in most cases are profoundly anti-Gospel. This Blog supports persecuted Christians. This Blog exposes cults. This Blog opposes junk science. UPDATED DAILY. This is not a forum. This Blog supports truly Christian websites and aids their efforts. It is hardhitting and unashamedly evangelical so if it offends - please do not come to this site!
