Labour MP David Lammy, who earlier this month said it
was not in the country’s interest to leave the European Union,
insisted his job was to stop the process of taking Britain out of the bloc –
before it has even started.
“They are there to vote on their conscience and I will be
voting on my conscience based on what I think is in the minds of my
constituents…
“And I have to say at this stage I’ve been very clear, I
will not be voting to trigger Article 50.”
